Erik Weigand’s June 30 financial report, which he filed only a few minutes before five on the deadline date of July 31, shows that Walter Stahr is far ahead of Weigand in the district three race in Newport Beach.
Weigand received only $53,139 in the six months through June 30; Stahr received more than twice as much, $114,002.
Weigand had only $45,700 in the bank as of June 30; Stahr had more than twice as much, $104,473.
Stahr has continued to raise money in the month of July, more than $18,000 in the month.
Stahr now has donations from more than 200 different individual donors.
Stahr commented: “I am grateful that so many residents support me, a candidate who will listen to them, rather than incumbent Erik Weigand, who has shown that he does NOT listen, on the police station in the park and other issues. I do not underestimate the challenge, however, and will keep running the race all the way through the finish tape.”
